Adult – ★★★★☆ – Goodreads – Amazon – B&N – iBooks
My god. It’s safe to say that I jumped into knowing what I was going to be getting into, but still completely unprepared for it. And I was a mess throughout it.
This book in one sentence: When you think the second one couldn’t be worse than the first but it was worse, but in all the best ways.
The first book in this series left me…empty. The review for that is here and rereading it now, it just didn’t do the book complete justice. I didn’t go into depth with it and I think I did that because it’s one of those books that you just have to read if the description sparks your interest.
I’m not going to do this review differently and I’m going to keep it short and sweet. The first book was really angsty and this one was even more so. I was screaming for our main character, Olivia, to stop, but at the same time, I was cheering her on! The connection between Olivia and David was incredibly stronger in this one. Even though there was so much fire between then that I couldn’t get enough, I was still begging for Olivia to do the right thing. She may have done the right thing, but definitely in a way that was unexpected.
I had hearteyes as well as anxiety while reading this book (in the best way), and I cannot wait to read the last one to see how everything plays out. I’m sure that I’ll be biting my nails through the entire book.
